Widgets in cif2.net

Here you can tweak the settings for the widgets in your website.

Widgets Settings:

You can set Width of the widgets (in pixels or percentage of the zone they're placed in) , the border and the margin spacing.

Set Background Image:

Upload a background image for the widgets zone and set repeat options and the image position.

Set Colors:

Here you can set the colors for the widgets background and the border of the widgets zone.

Widgets Header:

Set the font and size of the text from the Widgets Header, you can make it bold or italic and you can also set the colors for the text.

Widgets Body:

Set the font and size of the text from the Widgets Header, you can make it bold or italic and you can also set the colors for the text.

Click Save and it's all good to use.

Advanced Editor

You can get the Advanced Editor from My Account, then click Tools, go to the Text Editor tab and select Advanced editor.

Now, when you edit a Record you can see the options in the Simple Editor, plus a lot more.

You have a new button to clean up messy code.

There are buttons for Finding and even replacing some parts of the text.

Tables can be added in the Advanced Editor (without having to write the HTML code for them) . The options for the tables are identical to the ones from MS Word, and they are very easy to figure out.

You can remove formatting, toggle guidelines (you can switch them on or off | guidelines show you some virtual borders around each table cell you may have in the Record, which will not be seen when viewing the website normally. they are displayed only in the Edit Mode), write text as indices (e.g. x₂) or as a power ( x^2eleanor ).

There is a button for editing the CSS inside a Record.

Insert (insert non breaking space character), which puts a "space". This is not necessary, but it might force browsers to actually place as many spaces as you want.

You have a button for inserting a custom character.

And there is a Print button.

There are also a few changes when inserting images, for example. You now have options for constraining proportions, you can add other images at a mouse over event, and many others.

Setting up a Blog

1 ) If you don't have the Blog app, get it from the "My Account" tab in the menu. (you need at least a Level 1 blog)

2 ) If you have it, go to Apps/Widgets in the menu and you'll see there the Blog app.

Now you have to click Add to a page.

There, you will be able to choose to Create a new page for the blog, or to Add to selected page (you can select from the menu in which page you want to add it).

3 ) Now that you've put the blog app into a page, go to that page and edit it.

You can see the blog's dashboard, where you can view your Latest Articles, Post a new article, Manage Blog and tweak your Settings.

4 ) Post a Hello World! message and tell us how awesome it feels :D Thank you !

Using a subdomain instead of a domain may prove to be a good idea, because your website or blog will be indexed faster and more often by search engines, which is very important.
It will help you gain more visitors.

An app is an application (yeah, that was obvious :P) in Cif2 which helps you build a better website and have more interesting options, related strictly to the functionality of your website.

Examples of Apps: POP3 E-mail, Blog, Forum, Portfolio, Advanced Editor, Pages in Website, Disk Size, Upload File Size, etc.

More Apps will appear soon, we are constantly working on bringing new apps to further your online experience.

How do you get Apps ? Go to My Account, check them out and click to get them ;) After that, they will appear in the Apps/Widgets section.

What is a Widget ?

Well it's not the easiest thing to define, because it has a whole lot of features, so I think that the best thing to say would be that Cif2.net is a set of tools that helps you build an online presence and get exposure !

This online presence can be for you, your cat (I can haz Cif2 ? ), your projects, your novel, your company and well... anything you might want to get online and famous !

The idea behind it is that the biggest impediment in doing all of this is Web Designers ! Yes, that is correct.

That is correct ! There is help for every single section in the Menu. The sections in the Help Center that start with " Using .. " are the ones that describe every section of the cif2.net menu.

There are topics written for every tab you'll see in each section of the menu.

For Example: In the " Using Menu in Cif2.NET " section of the Help Center, you will see some questions, as well as some topics like " Edit Menu ". This topic describes what you can do using the Edit Menu tab.

Each section of the menu has documentation on it, so you should have no problem using cif2.net
